Aleksandar Jakovljević

Aleksandar Jakovljević is a Senior Fellow at the Council on International Law, Order, and Security (CILOS).​

Mr. Jakovljević previously served as Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia. He is a public policy and foreign affairs strategist whose work focuses on governance, migration, international development, and diplomacy.​

Previously, Mr. Jakovljević was a founding member of Serbia’s first national circular migration and returnee reintegration program in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), developing reforms related to diaspora engagement, labor mobility, and economic migration. Earlier, he worked on governance and economic development projects in cooperation with the World Bank, USAID, UNDP, and the Council of Europe.​

Mr. Jakovljević is currently a Millennium Leadership Fellow at the Atlantic Council and a Foreign Affairs Analyst for Bloomberg Adria, where he writes on geopolitics and international affairs. He was previously a Teaching Fellow and Research Assistant at Harvard University, where he conducted research on migration, governance, and public policy.​

Mr. Jakovljević received a Master in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School, where he was a John F. Kennedy Fellow. He also holds a Master of Law and Business from Bucerius Law School and dual bachelor's degrees in Economics/Finance and Business Management from St. Francis College.
