Hisham Osman is a Research Assistant at the Council of International Law, Order, and Security (CILOS). At the council, his work focuses on the global projection of U.S. domestic civil rights, analyzing how domestic equal protection jurisprudence, anti-discrimination law, and structural policy reforms inform international human rights norms and multilateral governance.

Hisham is an A.B. candidate in Sociology and Government at Harvard University, having previously studied Sociology and Political Science at Columbia University. At Columbia, he conducted sociological research at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center, served as Chair of the Undergraduate Committee on Global Thought, and worked as an Editor at the Columbia Undergraduate Law Review.

He has gained practical policy and editorial experience serving as a Legislative Intern in the United States House of Representatives, where he actively monitored House Foreign Affairs Committee hearings and conducted senior-level legislative research for proposed congressional policy on algorithmic bias and civil rights protections under the Fair Housing Act.
